In a move that represents a serious escalation in the political persecution campaign against Palestinian voices within the 48 territories, Israeli occupation authorities arrested former Knesset member and prominent political figure, Haneen Zoabi, from her home in Nazareth on Sunday morning.
The occupation police charged her with "incitement to terrorism" based on her positions opposing the ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip.
According to human rights sources, Zoabi's arrest comes after she published an opinion piece last week, in which she strongly criticized the occupation's aggression against Gaza, asserting that resistance to occupation is a legitimate right for peoples living under it.
Zoabi's arrest represents a message of intimidation aimed at silencing any Palestinian voice that opposes the official narrative of the occupation.
