Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said his country is "basically ready" to resume nuclear negotiations with the United States, although he called on US President Donald Trump to "tone down his rhetoric."
This came in a post by Araghchi on the X platform, in which he said, "If President Trump is sincere in his desire to reach an agreement, he must put aside his disrespectful and unacceptable tone toward Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop harming millions of his loyal followers."
Trump had said that new talks with Iran would take place next week, but did not provide any details.
It is noteworthy that a sixth round of US-Iranian talks scheduled for Oman on June 15 was canceled after Israel carried out strikes on Iranian targets two days earlier, followed by US forces bombing key Iranian nuclear sites.
