Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that the American proposal for a ceasefire stipulates the formation of a committee that includes Western countries to supervise the implementation of UN Resolution 1701, stressing that this is unacceptable to Lebanon, according to what was reported by the Lebanese News Agency.
Berri added that the American proposal for a ceasefire does not include any text that allows the Israeli army freedom of action in Lebanon if there is a suspected threat, as Tel Aviv demands.
He also stressed that including any clause that allows the Israeli army freedom of action in Lebanon is "unacceptable, and it is not possible to even open a discussion about it because it violates Lebanon's sovereignty."
