Palestine Authority requests emergency meeting of Arab League Council

Today, Sunday, Palestine submitted a memorandum containing a request to hold an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of Arab foreign ministers in an extraordinary session at the earliest possible date, to discuss ways of political action at the Arab and international levels to stop the Israeli aggression, hold its perpetrators accountable, and provide international protection for our people.

The Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine to the Arab League, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, told the official Wafa News Agency, “The urgent meeting comes in light of the brutal and ongoing Israeli aggression against our Palestinian people, including the escalation of the incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by thousands of settlers and Israeli officials over the course of "The past few days, with the protection of the extreme right-wing Israeli government."

He added: "The ensuing unprecedented escalation in the Gaza Strip and Israeli aggression against the Strip aims to kill and terrorize civilians and destroy residential towers and Palestinian infrastructure, as well as the escalation of Israeli incursions into Palestinian cities, villages and camps and the policy of assassinations, with the aim of further killing the Palestinian people and breaking their will and destroying their capabilities and property.”
