Palestine Premier discusses with EU High Representative Arab-European efforts to political process

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh discussed with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, Arab-European efforts to revive the political process, today, Tuesday, at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

The Prime Minister welcomed the outcomes of the meeting at the level of foreign ministers with Arab-European coordination in the “Peace Day Efforts” initiative, stressing the necessity of collective action to revive the political process in light of the blockage of the political horizon, and to work to protect the two-state solution, in light of the systematic destruction practiced by the Israeli government of the possibility of establishing Palestinian state.

Shtayyeh presented Borrell in the context of the Israeli occupation forces’ violations against our people and the undermining of the Palestinian Authority, indicating that this leads to an explosive situation on the ground.

Shtayyeh continued: "Stopping Israeli violations and preserving the two-state solution is an international responsibility, and the world must take concrete measures in this context."

The two parties also discussed the success of the donor conference and the need to emphasize that the international community will continue to support Palestine politically and financially.
