Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sissi in the coastal city of El Alamein on Monday.
Abbas thanked his Egyptian counterpart for hosting the reconciliation talks between Palestinian factions on Sunday, who in turn stressed the importance of achieving "national unity."
The president also briefed Sissi on the latest development in Israel's ongoing assault against the Palestinian people and their rights.
The two committed to strengthening their bilateral ties, and Egypt also reiterated their support for the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
