Referring a law to the Israeli Knesset to try Palestinian children

The so-called Ministerial Committee for Israeli Legislative Affairs referred, on Sunday, to the Knesset Plenum, a draft law that would allow the trial of Palestinian children under 14 years of age, as adults, in the event that they are suspected of committing what was described as a “terrorist act,” especially in the event that it causes damage, injuries, or deaths.

According to the Hebrew website Ynet, the draft law submitted by Knesset members from the right-wing parties in the government coalition was approved by the committee, and will be presented next Wednesday to the Knesset to pass it to the internal committee for further discussions before voting on it in three readings.
