Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi plans to visit Syria, a senior Iranian official confirmed today (Saturday).
During Raisi's visit to Syria, the victory of the Iranian-led resistance front over the United States in West Asia will be celebrated following "a tense period of geopolitical change," tweeted Mohammad Jamshidi, deputy chief of staff for political affairs to the Iranian president.
According to a previous report by the Syrian newspaper Al-Watan, Raisi will pay a two-day visit to Damascus on Wednesday. This is the first official visit to Syria by an Iranian president since 2010.
Raisi is expected to hold talks with his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad, on ways to enhance bilateral strategic cooperation, especially in the field of economy.
