Martyr in Gaza and extensive demolition operations targeting residential neighborhoods in the Strip

A young Palestinian man was killed by Israeli occupation forces' bullets this Tuesday morning while he was in the Salah al-Din Street area, south of Gaza City. Medical sources at the Baptist Hospital confirmed the arrival of the martyr's body after he was directly targeted by snipers positioned around the infiltration axes, amidst ongoing escalating field tensions.

In a remarkable field escalation, engineering units of the occupation army carried out three massive demolition operations targeting the remaining homes and civilian facilities in the northeastern areas of Khan Yunis city, south of the Strip. These explosions were accompanied by intense gunfire from military vehicles that infiltrated the vicinity of the area, causing panic among displaced people near the bombing sites.

Al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, witnessed a massive explosion that shook the area, resulting from the systematic destruction of residential buildings around the Al-Sanafoura intersection. Local sources reported that occupation vehicles heavily fired their machine guns towards the edges of Al-Tuffah and Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhoods, coinciding with the sound of successive explosions inside the areas controlled by the Israeli army.

Regarding military movements, the occupation army continued to expand its field control by removing the concrete blocks that define the 'Yellow Line' westward. This step led to the seizure of more Palestinian lands and their transformation into prohibited military zones, forcing hundreds of families into new forced displacement to escape the Israeli military expansion.

Field estimates indicate that the occupation authorities now effectively control more than 70% of the Gaza Strip's area, by imposing security belts and buffer zones that prevent citizens from accessing them. This military expansion coincides with continuous targeting of displaced persons' tents, where a woman and her daughter were martyred in a bombing that targeted the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Yunis, which was previously classified as a safe zone.

Regarding human casualties, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that hospitals received 8 martyrs and 26 injured in the past twenty-four hours due to scattered raids. Since the start of what was called the ceasefire agreement last October, medical sources have recorded the martyrdom of 1053 Palestinians and the injury of thousands of others, in Israeli violations that have not stopped since the announcement of the supposed truce.

Considering the total statistics since the outbreak of the aggression in October 2023, the number of martyrs has exceeded 73,000, while the number of injured has reached more than 173,000. The ongoing military operations have caused the destruction of about 90% of the civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, water and electricity networks, making the Strip an uninhabitable area.

Attacks were not limited to the Gaza Strip, as 15-year-old child Amir Ahmed Jaber was martyred by occupation bullets in the Umm Al-Sharayet area of Al-Bireh city in the West Bank. The Palestine Medical Complex announced the child's death due to a critical head injury, thus raising the number of victims of the comprehensive Israeli escalation in all occupied Palestinian territories.

The occupation continues its scorched-earth policy by demolishing the remaining residential facilities and expanding the security buffer zone at the expense of citizens' lands.
