A Palestinian youth was injured on Wednesday by shrapnel from a bomb launched by an Israeli drone targeting a gathering of civilians near the Bani Suhaila roundabout, located east of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, in a new violation of the ceasefire in effect in the sector.
Medical sources confirmed to Anadolu Agency the arrival of the young man, Jihad Mallahi Mahmoud Abu Shab, 37 years old, to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, as a result of being hit by shrapnel from a bomb launched by a quadcopter drone on the Bani Suhaila roundabout, east of Khan Yunis.
Medical sources described the condition of the injured young man as moderate, without providing further details about the nature of the injury.
Local sources reported that the area where the young man was injured had witnessed a withdrawal of the Israeli army as part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
This attack is considered a new violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between Hamas and Israel, which came into effect on October 10th, under Egyptian, Qatari, and Turkish mediation, and under the auspices of the United States of America.
Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement, having committed 738 violations, which have resulted in the martyrdom of 386 Palestinians, according to a statement issued by the Government Media Office on Tuesday.
The Israeli war on Gaza, which began on October 8, 2023, and lasted for two years, left more than 70,000 martyrs and more than 171,000 injured, most of them children and women. In addition to the human losses, Israel caused massive destruction in Gaza, and the United Nations estimated the cost of reconstruction at about $70 billion.
This attack represents a new violation of the ceasefire agreement signed between Hamas and Israel.
