Injury of 6 Israeli soldiers after locals confronted a force that infiltrated southern Syria.

Six Israeli soldiers were injured, including three with serious wounds, on Friday after residents in the town of "Beit Jinn" in the countryside of the Syrian capital Damascus confronted an Israeli force that had infiltrated the town and engaged in clashes with it before withdrawing.

The army stated in a statement that a force from the reserve brigade (55) operating under the command of the 210th division had infiltrated the village to "arrest wanted individuals," claiming they belong to a group called "the Islamic Group Organization."

It added that the Israeli force "came under fire from armed individuals in the area, resulting in the injury of three officers and three soldiers, including two officers and a soldier with serious injuries."

It clarified that the army responded by opening fire and carried out airstrikes on the village, claiming "the operation was completed, all wanted individuals were arrested, and others were killed."

The army mentioned that its forces "are still deployed in the area and will continue to act against any threat," according to its claims.

Earlier, the Syrian government channel "Al-Ikhbariya" reported that a number of dead and wounded fell as a result of Israeli airstrikes on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside.

It explained that the bombardment came after the residents of Beit Jinn surrounded an Israeli military patrol and engaged with it during its incursion into the town before its withdrawal.

The town of Beit Jinn is located on the slopes of Mount Hermon and is only about 10 kilometers from the border separating it from the occupied Golan Heights and Israel. It has repeatedly been subjected to various Israeli military operations, including air and artillery bombardments and temporary ground incursions.

Although the Syrian government has not posed any threat to Tel Aviv, the Israeli army repeatedly infiltrates the Arab country and conducts airstrikes that have killed civilians and destroyed military sites, vehicles, weapons, and ammunition belonging to the army.
