Colombian coal exports recorded a sharp decline in July, dropping by 45.8% year-on-year, reaching a value of $479.8 million, compared to $885.8 million during the same period in 2024.
This decline, which marks the fifth consecutive drop for the sector according to data from the National Statistics Agency (DANE), comes amid a global price crisis and a political decision by President Gustavo Petro to renew the ban on coal sales to the occupying entity.
Colombian President Gustavo Petro renewed the ban last July by issuing a second decree halting coal shipments to the occupying entity.
We will not be partners in the extermination of Gaza.
