By phone, bin Farhan discusses the situation in Gaza with Rubio.

The Saudi Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan, held a phone call with his American counterpart, Marco Rubio, on Tuesday, where they discussed regional and international developments, focusing on the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

According to a statement from the Saudi Foreign Ministry, the security and humanitarian updates in Gaza were addressed, along with the efforts being made to deal with these situations, but the statement did not provide additional details about the discussion.

This call comes at a time when the genocide being perpetrated by the occupying state against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip continues, with these violations ongoing for the twenty-second consecutive month.

The call coincided with a stalemate in negotiations regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, further complicating the humanitarian situation in the region.

Days ago, the Israeli government approved a gradual plan for the complete occupation of the Gaza Strip, starting with the city of Gaza, which is home to about one million Palestinians, raising significant concerns about the fate of civilians.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupying state, with American support, has committed genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop these violations.

Statistics indicate that the Israeli genocide has resulted in 61,599 martyrs and 154,088 injured, in addition to more than 9,000 missing, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster faced by the Palestinians in the strip.
