Slovenia has announced that it will take action, along with other like-minded countries, if the European Union does not take concrete action within the next two weeks to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a genocidal war waged by Israel for 21 months.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday, Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golube said that some EU countries prioritize their own interests over protecting the human rights of the Palestinian people.
Gollop stressed the need for the European Union to take concrete steps against Israel.
He added, "If the European Union does not take concrete action on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza within the next two weeks, we will move with like-minded countries to exert real pressure on Israel."
"We are ready to do this, and the time is now," he continued.
Gollop pointed out the need to take steps beyond solidarity with Palestine.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza, with US support, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The genocide left more than 188,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and famine claimed the lives of many, including children.
