The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the escalation of aggression and organized terrorism perpetrated by extremist settler groups and the Israeli occupation forces, and the systematic destruction of infrastructure in refugee camps in the West Bank.
In a statement issued Thursday, the organization called for the need to achieve justice by holding the Israeli occupation accountable for all crimes it commits throughout the Palestinian territories.
She warned of the seriousness of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the ongoing crimes of genocide, starvation, blockade, and systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure perpetrated by the occupation, which constitute crimes against humanity under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and international humanitarian law.
The organization affirmed its rejection of a mechanism for distributing humanitarian aid that exposes civilians to direct targeting and killing while waiting to receive aid. It reiterated its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities by imposing an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, opening all crossings, allowing sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to enter all parts of the Gaza Strip, and providing international protection for the Palestinian people.
