Saudi Arabia provides a $30 million grant to the State of Palestine.

Finance Minister Omar Bitar received a $30 million grant from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today, Thursday, as part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing support for Palestine through 2025.

The shipment was delivered at the Saudi Embassy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, during a meeting between Minister Bitar and the Acting Chargé d'Affaires at the Saudi Embassy in Jordan, Mohammed bin Hassan Mounes.

Al-Bitar praised the Kingdom's continued financial and political support, emphasizing the importance of this contribution in alleviating the financial crisis facing the State of Palestine in light of recent Israeli policies. He also expressed his deep appreciation for the Kingdom's steadfast historical stance toward the brotherly Palestinian people.

He commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's steadfast, historic stance toward Palestine, its support for its legitimate rights and the establishment of its independent state. He conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for their continued political, economic, and humanitarian support.

For his part, Mons explained that this payment comes within the framework of the Kingdom's commitment to supporting the Palestinian government and enabling it to fulfill its financial obligations. He noted the importance of this aid in strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviating their suffering in the face of economic and humanitarian challenges.

He affirmed his country's unwavering commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided approximately $5.3 billion over the past years, including humanitarian, relief, and development aid as part of its support for the State of Palestine.

It's worth noting that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provides financial support to Palestine to support vital sectors, most notably the health and education sectors. This support includes covering hospital expenses, purchasing medicines and medical equipment, paying the salaries of medical staff, teachers, and administrators at the Ministry of Education, and covering school operating expenses.
