US Special Envoy David Satterfield said today (Saturday) that US officials have not received any reports that the Hamas movement is obstructing the arrival of or seizing humanitarian aid directed to the Gaza Strip amid shortages of food, medicine and fuel, according to Reuters.
He explained to reporters in the Jordanian capital, Amman, that those who distribute aid in Gaza have not reported any aid transfer process since the resumption of truck crossings from the Rafah crossing with Egypt on October 21 after diplomatic efforts.
He added that those responsible for the aid “did not provide us with reports within ten or 12 days of the delivery of the aid about obstruction or seizure of shipments by (Hamas).”
Between 800,000 and 1 million people moved to the southern Gaza Strip, while between 350,000 and 400,000 remain in the northern Gaza Strip.
