The Prisoners and Ex-Detainees Affairs Authority revealed today, Thursday, that the total number of administrative detention decisions issued by the occupation authorities, from the beginning of this year 2023, until the end of last September, amounted to (2618) new decisions or renewal decisions.
The Commission explained that last September, the Israeli military courts issued 296 administrative detention orders, including (176) new detention orders and (120) renewal orders.
The Commission indicated that the number of appeal files submitted by the Commission against administrative detention decisions, which were considered, amounted to (42) appeal files, which the occupation courts rejected without any legal reasons.
It is noteworthy that administrative detention is detention without charge or trial, and without allowing the detainee or his lawyer to inspect the evidentiary materials, as the occupation authorities use the excuse that administrative detainees have secret files that can never be revealed.
