Today, Wednesday, the Arab Republic of Egypt called on the Israeli authorities to give priority to the path of calm and to refrain from adopting policies of collective punishment in Palestinian towns and cities in a way that contributes to igniting a vicious circle of violence.
In a statement, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli escalation in the occupied Palestinian territories, most recently in the city of Jenin.
It considered that such attacks against the Palestinian people and their property violate the rules of international law and the decisions of international legitimacy, which stipulate the necessity of protecting civilians and preserving the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry confirmed that these attacks also undermine international and regional efforts aimed at reviving the peace process based on the two-state solution.
