Human rights and humanitarian organizations in the United States of America sent a petition to members of the US Senate, asking them to support a draft resolution to stop funding Israel’s human rights violations in the Palestinian territories.
The petition called for the US administration to stop funding Israel's human rights violations that have increased recently, by supporting a draft resolution (HR 3103) submitted in the House of Representatives, or submitting an accompanying bill in the Senate.
Representative in the US House of Representatives Betty McCollum had submitted a bill “Defending the Human Rights of Palestinian Families and Children” living under occupation, in order to protect Palestinian human rights and ensure that “American taxpayers’ funds are not used to support Israeli practices in the occupied territories and aid.” US funds to Israel amounting to more than $3 billion.
