Today, Friday, Hamas condemned Britain's decision to stand against a ruling by the International Court of Justice regarding the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, and to present an opinion opposing the principle of submitting the case to the International Court.
Hamas said in a statement, "This is a continuation of the British policies supporting the occupation and denying the rights of our Palestinian people, starting with issuing the ominous Balfour Declaration, which granted the occupation alleged legitimacy on our occupied lands, and not ending with the British governments' condoning of the occupation's crimes."
It added, "The British position contradicts the values of justice and truth, by tying the hand of international justice to bridle the occupations crimes and brutal violations."
Hamas called on Britain and the international community to stop tampering with international and humanitarian law and double standards, and shoulder their responsibility to end the Zionist occupation, hold its leaders accountable for their crimes, lift the injustice against our defenseless Palestinian people and support their right to freedom and self-determination.
