An Iranian diplomat revealed on Wednesday that the Israel's rift over the judicial overhaul was discussed during a meeting between senior officials from Iran and Hamas.
Reuters quoted the diplomatic source as saying that the meeting was held last week and lasted for three hours, and was attended by a senior commander in the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, two Iranian security officials, and senior Hamas officials.
The group decided to refrain from taking action against Israel at the present time, an Iranian diplomat told Reuters. They agreed that direct conflict could play into the hands of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
A Hamas leader refused to comment on the reports, but said that there are ongoing talks with Iran as to how to bolster the resistance.
Hezbollah is also following the developments, which have been discussed at the highest levels. An official in Lebanon said that the group believes that it can develop and can benefit from this situation in the future.
