The so-called Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, allowed the Israeli police to take a new decision to prevent the withdrawal of the weapon of any Israeli who neutralizes any Palestinian who carries out an attack.
According to the new procedure, the weapon of an Israeli who fires at any Palestinian to prevent an attack will not be taken from him, if it is proven that he prevented a national attack and acted in self-defense, according to what was reported in the Hebrew Maariv newspaper.
The decision includes that the Israeli immediately stop firing after the danger to his life or others has passed, in the event that he hits or kills the attacker.
The procedures were based on the fact that the police officer had the discretion to confiscate the weapon or not.
