Today, Thursday, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition announced the launch of a new ship from Norway to break the siege on the Gaza Strip , and to publicize the suffering of the Palestinians in the besieged Strip for 16 years.
The coalition said in a statement: "The coalition's new campaign seeks to challenge and end the illegal and inhumane Israeli blockade imposed on more than two million Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, and it will focus on showing the suffering of children who are considered the most affected by the blockade."
The organizers named the ship "Handala", which is the most famous character drawn by the Palestinian artist Naji Al-Ali in his caricatures, and represents a ten-year-old boy (the same Omar Naji Al-Ali when he was forced to leave Palestine) turning his back to the reader and holding his hands behind his back since 1973 AD.
