Moscow includes 39 Britons, including Labor leader Starmer, on its blacklist

Moscow - (AFP) - Russia announced today, Monday, that it has blacklisted 39 Britons, including Labor Party leader Keir Starmer and former Prime Minister David Cameron.

And London has been one of the biggest supporters of Kiev since President Vladimir Putin launched the military campaign in Ukraine on February 24.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the British citizens on its blacklist, including journalists, "contributed to London's hostile course aimed at demonizing our country and isolating it internationally."

The ministry added that "the option of confrontation is the conscious decision of the British political establishment, which bears full responsibility for the consequences."

Moscow has banned dozens of Britons, most of them politicians and journalists, from entering Russia since the start of its campaign in Ukraine.

The new additions include several Labor MPs, Scottish politicians and members of the House of Lords.

Among those names are BBC journalist Jonathan Monroe, TV presenter Piers Morgan and BBC news presenter Hugh Edwards.
