Palestinian Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes Organizes Scientific Event

Ramallah - Quds.com - By Ahmed Jalajel - The Palestinian Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes, in cooperation with Al-Quds Pharmaceutical Company, and with the participation of the Palestinian Heart Association, the Internal Medicine Association, and the Family Medicine Association, organized a scientific event to announce the launch of the new drug Empa L for the treatment of diabetes.

The event was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Wael Al-Sheikh, who reviewed the health situation and the exceptional challenges facing the health sector in Palestine under the current circumstances, and the significant pressures these circumstances have placed on health capabilities and resources. He affirmed that these challenges exceed the capabilities of individual health institutions, necessitating concerted efforts to maintain the continuity of health services and ensure patient safety and the quality of care provided to them in the best possible way despite the difficult circumstances, in addition to the participation of a large number of endocrinologists, diabetologists, internists, family doctors, and healthcare providers.

The event discussed the latest scientific developments in the management and treatment of diabetes and obesity. The program also included a scientific presentation on the pharmacological properties of the new drug, its mechanism of action, and the clinical evidence supporting its efficacy and safety, in line with approved treatment guidelines.

Dr. Sufian Baseet, President of the Palestinian Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between scientific societies and national pharmaceutical companies to support continuous medical education and enable doctors and healthcare providers to stay informed about the latest evidence-based therapeutic developments, noting that recent years have witnessed significant progress in understanding diabetes, its treatment methods, and monitoring technologies, which imposes a continuous responsibility to update knowledge and harness these developments to serve patients and improve their quality of life.

Dr. Baseet also extended his thanks and appreciation to the lecturers, participants, and organizers who contributed to the success of this scientific day, expressing his anticipation for more scientific events that promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

For his part, Professor Rami Qutob, General Manager of Al-Quds Pharmaceutical Company, expressed his pride in the cooperation with the Palestinian Society of Endocrinology and Diabetes, affirming the company's commitment to developing and providing high-quality pharmaceutical products that meet the needs of patients, support medical staff, and contribute to improving the level of healthcare in Palestine, and working to provide the latest treatments that contribute to promoting community health.

The event concluded with an interactive scientific discussion on the latest trends in the treatment of diabetes and obesity, emphasizing the importance of continuing to hold scientific events that contribute to the exchange of experiences and the promotion of evidence-based medical practice.

Improving what Dr. Wael Al-Sheikh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, mentioned and said, the meaning would be to address the poor health situation, and the reason is not the ministry but the current circumstances, and that it is our duty to work to maintain patient safety as much as possible.
