US President Donald Trump hinted at the option of military force against Tehran, stressing that the US administration has given Iran two choices: either conclude a final agreement or Washington will 'finish the mission.' These statements come at a time when the region is witnessing escalating tension, coinciding with the funeral ceremonies of the former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, reflecting an American desire to resolve the Iranian issue under the pressure of direct threat.
In a swift reaction to these threats, sources reported that the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, sent a sharp message to Trump, demanding that he address the Iranian people with respect. Zolghadr stressed that Tehran will not accept foreign threatening language, warning that continuing this approach will be met with an Iranian response 'in another language' whose nature he did not specify, but which reflects the magnitude of the challenge in Iranian political circles.
For his part, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament and chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, emphasized his country's foreign policy constants at this sensitive stage, declaring that Iran is not at peace with the United States. Ghalibaf also reiterated Tehran's rejection of recognizing Israel, which places negotiation efforts before complex obstacles given both sides' adherence to rigid positions on regional and nuclear issues.
Either we reach an agreement with Iran or the United States will finish the mission.
