Israeli Warnings of the Growing Influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe

A Hebrew newspaper incited against the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe, warning of their spread and infiltration into centers of power on the continent under the guise of moderation.

The newspaper based its incitement on excerpts from a report recently submitted to the European Union, which claims that the group is working to dismantle secular democratic institutions in Europe with the aim of establishing an Islamic religious state.

The report, prepared by two researchers in political Islam affairs in Europe, presents a disturbing picture of the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe, noting that Europe is using taxpayers' money to finance organizations linked to the group, which promote a subversive ideology aimed at changing the face of the continent from within.

The newspaper quoted a Swedish member of the European Parliament as saying that the organizational structure of the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe is complex. The group is a network of semi-autonomous groups, linked by a common ideology, family ties, and personal relationships, making it difficult to understand its mechanism of operation and track the flow of funds that support it.

He adds: "We used to ignore the Muslim Brotherhood, because this movement was almost non-existent on the continent, but things have turned upside down due to the increase in Islamic immigration, the emergence of a new generation of Muslims born in Europe, and the group's efforts to gain a foothold in the West."

The report indicates that the group infiltrates Europe through decentralized action, through countless entities that at first glance appear completely unrelated to each other, and present themselves as legitimate organizations, such as mosques, non-profit organizations, and social welfare funds.

The report claims that under the guise of legitimacy and decentralization, Islamic bodies can request national and European budgets, and through grants presented ostensibly as support for efforts to integrate immigrants or combat racism, the European Union has pumped tens of millions of dollars into networks that promote separatism and parallel societies inspired by Islamic Sharia.

The report also pointed to an alleged link between branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe and branches of Iran, claiming that although these two Islamic parties belong to two conflicting Islamic sects, they are good at cooperating with each other when infiltrating Europe.

The report also claims that Islamists in Europe exploit accusations of Islamophobia to silence criticism and opposition, and have also been able to exploit the European Union to obtain additional funding to combat this anti-Muslim discourse.

The newspaper called for banning the activities of the Muslim Brotherhood and not tolerating them, demanding that the European Union stop funding any organization linked to the group and increase transparency, thorough auditing, and the exchange of intelligence information.

The newspaper praised the decision of former US President Donald Trump to classify major branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan as terrorist organizations, claiming that this classification constitutes a strong precedent for confronting Islamic threats directly.
