Challenges facing the future of the Israeli occupation due to its policies

The political, social, and economic behavior of the Israeli occupation in recent years reflects a belief among Israelis in ignoring the consequences of seizing Palestinian lands, which may push it towards a more difficult future.

Former Israeli Ambassador Tova Herzl stated that the Israeli government is acting as if reality can be shaped according to a unilateral will, and that actions have no consequences, which raises questions about the future of Israel.

Herzl explained that the central issue in the ruling right's policy is control over the Palestinian territories in the West Bank, where Israel is acting as if it intends to control the people and the land forever, ignoring the Palestinians' right to self-determination.

Herzl pointed out that Israeli policy violates international law, which prohibits the expansion of territories through occupation and prevents the transfer of populations, and that continuing to violate the law may lead to crippling sanctions.

Herzl affirmed that the Israeli government is not looking at the increasing boycott after the war in Gaza, and has not presented a plan for the next day, and what will happen to the farmers and academics who are being boycotted.

Herzl added that the additional price of the right's policy relates to the negative reverse migration balance, where the number of Jewish emigrants from inside the country exceeds the number of arrivals, and that many of those leaving are young people with in-demand professions.

Herzl mentioned that, apart from the rigid response from supporters of the right that those who leave the country do not deserve to stay in it, they do not offer practical solutions to the problem of brain drain, and that the government has not looked into where the education system is heading.

This review of the prices paid by the occupying state due to its internal and external policies shows that it faces difficult problems, and there is no magic solution to any of them, and that ignoring existential issues and the prevailing illusion will determine the course of the state.
