Israeli General: Hamas Returns in Gaza Stronger Than Ever for This Reason

An Israeli general confirmed that the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu's government throughout the war on the Gaza Strip have been characterized by a lack of a clear strategy, which may enable Hamas to return strongly to the scene.

General Yisrael Ziv, the former commander of the Gaza Division in the occupation army, explained that "the major problem that has plagued Tel Aviv throughout the war is the absence of a strategy, and the continuation until now without prior planning, but rather proceeding according to partisan considerations that contradict Israel's security and national needs."

Ziv continued in an article published by Channel 12 and translated by "Arabi21," stating that "what is happening now in Gaza is the same as what happened on all fronts of the war," indicating that "no war front has ended with a studied and planned policy, and everything was decided and imposed by the Americans over the heads of the Israelis."

He warned that the absence of a strategy will enable Hamas to return stronger than ever, all due to the failed policies of Netanyahu's government, referring to the instances where Washington abandoned Tel Aviv due to the continuation of attacks for long periods and their expansion on multiple fronts.

He mentioned that regarding the Gaza Strip, Netanyahu did not intend to end the war that Trump abruptly halted, adding that "there was no planning for the day after the war, despite its continuation for two years, although the greatest achievement is the return of all living prisoners and some bodies."

He continued: "The rational voice has consistently said throughout the war that prisoners will only return through negotiation, not through fighting, and the result is that Hamas remained without leverage, and therefore it is in a hurry to rebuild its authority and bargaining power."

He confirmed that "it is not important what can be said about a ceasefire agreement, in the end, we are facing Hamas, the armed organization that grows stronger with each passing day, and the chances of achieving the substance of the agreement to separate Gaza from the movement are diminishing, but what it has been doing since the signing is a strategy to shape a new reality represented in a war of attrition within imposed arrangements, because it knows well that the Americans will not let the agreement evaporate, as it is a very important achievement for them."

He clarified that "Hamas now knows that Israeli hands are tied behind their backs, and it is free to continue its provocations, while Tel Aviv has found itself in a political trap, even though Netanyahu would be happy to return to war, as it is comfortable for him and excites his base eager to return to the complete victory promised within the framework of the eternal war, and he is not concerned with the success of the agreement, and will continue to say 'no' to the future forces that will enter Gaza, although this discussion in a month or two will not matter, as Hamas will be strong enough that there will be no volunteer force willing and able to enter Gaza.
