The occupied West Bank witnessed a serious field escalation, as the occupation forces opened fire on a Palestinian at the Atara checkpoint north of Ramallah, coinciding with an attack by settlers in the same area, and a wide incursion into the Balata refugee camp east of Nablus.
According to sources, a Palestinian was injured by the occupation forces' gunfire at the Atara military checkpoint. In the same location, settlers launched an attack on Palestinian citizens' vehicles, increasing the tension in the area.
The occupation forces, reinforced by military vehicles, stormed the Balata refugee camp, which is one of the largest and most densely populated camps in the West Bank. Such incursions are usually accompanied by confrontations and arrests.
The simultaneous events led to a rapid deterioration of the security situation in two main areas of the West Bank.
