The announcement of the launch of the international emergency coalition to support the financing of the Palestinian Authority was appreciated.
Mustafa emphasized the necessity of releasing Palestinian tax revenues and called on various countries around the world to join the international emergency coalition.
The Palestinian government welcomed the outcomes of the donors' meeting held in New York last night, chaired by the friendly Kingdom of Norway, which represented an international consensus to support the State of Palestine politically and financially, and to reject Israel's unilateral policies, especially the continued detention of Palestinian tax revenues.
The government appreciated the announcement by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan regarding the launch of the international emergency coalition to financially support the Palestinian Authority, along with several international partners, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's support of $90 million in addition to contributions from Spain of $50 million and Germany of €30 million, with expectations of further contributions from other countries.
The Palestinian government called on various friendly countries to provide their contributions as soon as possible, in order to enable it to meet its obligations, especially in light of the suffocating Israeli financial blockade and attempts to undermine the Palestinian economy.
In his speech before representatives of dozens of participating countries at the donors' conference, with the participation of Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Estephan Salama, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa stressed the necessity of obligating Israel to fully release the Palestinian tax revenues it holds, to end all illegal deductions, and to invite friendly countries to join the Saudi-Norwegian-Spanish-French initiative to provide an emergency support package for the budget of no less than $200 million monthly for six months, ensuring the continued operation of the institutions of the State of Palestine and enabling it to fulfill its duties in providing health and educational services, maintaining security and order, and enhancing the resilience of our people in the face of the comprehensive Israeli war against our people.
Mustafa provided a comprehensive briefing to the attendees in New York via video conferencing from his office in Ramallah, which included an explanation of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the government's plans for recovery as soon as the aggression stops, along with warnings about annexation plans in the West Bank and settler attacks, and the occupation's measures to undermine the work of our national institutions, as well as the government's actions and its executive plans for reform and institutional development.
It is noteworthy that the proceedings of the donors' conference and the interventions of all countries included a decisive rejection of Israel's policies of holding Palestinian tax revenues, its attempts to suffocate the Palestinian economy and undermine the work of the institutions of the State of Palestine, a rejection of annexation and displacement plans, and a reaffirmation of support for the State of Palestine and its efforts to unify national institutions in the West Bank and Gaza, along with support and praise for the reform steps announced by the President and the government's reform program.
