Colombia calls for the formation of a global army to liberate Palestine and arrest war criminals.

Colombian President Gustavo Petro called for the formation of a global force aimed at liberating Palestine, stating that condemnation and denunciation are not enough to confront the crimes committed by Israel in Palestine.

In statements to Al Jazeera Mubasher today, Wednesday, he added that many countries have expressed their willingness to participate in forming a military force to liberate Palestine, and that statements of condemnation are no longer sufficient.

He emphasized the necessity of demonstrating strength in the face of Israel and arresting those accused of committing genocide in Gaza and bringing them to the International Criminal Court, saying that the formation of a global army to save Palestine would be linked to the will of the countries.

Petro affirmed that "a human majority worldwide is calling for an end to the Israeli genocide war on Gaza," and that "the voting system in the Security Council must be changed, as no single country can impose its opinion on the world."

He stated that he expressed to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, solidarity with his country and condemned the Israeli bombardment that targeted it earlier this month.

The dream of Palestine is close to realization, as he believes that the dream of the late President Yasser Arafat to establish a Palestinian state is nearing fulfillment, and that saving the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip is a rescue for all of humanity.

Petro expressed his rejection of Israeli accusations of anti-Semitism, adding, "We support the children of Gaza who are being bombed by Israel, because we have suffered from the horrors of violence in our country, so we understand the dangers of war and the importance of promoting peace."

He accused global companies of supporting the war on Gaza and funding campaigns in favor of Israel, pointing out that some European positions on the war in Gaza are characterized by hypocrisy.

In August 2018, Colombia recognized Palestine as a free, independent, and sovereign state.
