Britain bans the study of occupying army officers at the Royal College of Defence.

The Hebrew newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that Britain has decided to prevent Israeli occupation army officers from studying at the "Royal College of Defence Studies" in London starting next year.

The Hebrew newspaper added that this step is punitive against Israel, in light of its ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip for nearly two years.

It clarified that this decision reveals a British escalation in its positions towards Israel, and comes at a time when estimates indicate that Prime Minister Keir Starmer intends to soon recognize a Palestinian state, a move that could exacerbate tensions between the two countries.

The newspaper pointed out that the Royal College, which was established in 1927 based on the vision of British leader Winston Churchill, is one of the most prominent military academic institutions in Britain, focusing on national and international security issues and developing strategic leadership.

"Yedioth Ahronoth" continued that "Israel has consistently sent officers annually to study at the college, but this tradition will stop for the first time."

The newspaper also quoted the Director General of the Israeli occupation Ministry of War, Amir Bar-Ram, who graduated from the same college, stating that the decision represents discrimination and a break from Britain's long-standing traditions of tolerance and fairness, according to his claim.

Bar-Ram added: "Excluding Israel at a time when it protects international trade routes from Houthi attacks and fights to prevent nuclear weapons from reaching extremist hands is nothing less than a direct harm to Britain's own security."

According to the Israeli newspaper, Bar-Ram's message, directed to the British government, was characterized by an angry tone, as he considered what is happening to be "a deliberate silencing of Israeli voices and weakening of a security partner fighting on the front lines."

The newspaper noted that "the British decision coincides with other steps from the European Union against Israel, including freezing financial support and discussing imposing sanctions on ministers in the current government, reflecting the rising international pressures on Tel Aviv amid the ongoing war in Gaza."

With American support, the occupying state has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 2023, resulting in 64,871 martyrs and 164,610 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has claimed the lives of 422 Palestinians, including 145 children.
