A Hebrew channel reported that the special naval commando unit in the Israeli occupation army, known as 'Shayetet 13', is preparing to carry out a military operation to seize the ships of the international maritime fleet heading towards the Gaza Strip in an attempt to break the blockade.
This development comes at a time when the 'Global Freedom Fleet', which set sail from European and Tunisian ports, continues its journey towards Gaza's territorial waters. The fleet includes dozens of ships carrying hundreds of international activists from more than 40 countries, in addition to symbolic humanitarian aid.
This military readiness of the Israeli occupation raises fears of a repetition of bloody scenarios, the most notable being the attack on the 'Mavi Marmara' ship in 2010, where the same unit attacked the first Freedom Flotilla in international waters, resulting in the martyrdom of several Turkish activists.
