Rubio arrives in Israel and outlines Trump's priority in Gaza.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Tel Aviv today, Sunday, to discuss the Gaza issue and reaffirm his country's support for Israel.

Rubio's plane landed at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, where he was welcomed by U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee. He is scheduled to meet later with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials and visit the Western Wall.

Before leaving Washington, the U.S. Secretary stated that President Donald Trump's priority in Gaza is the release of all detained prisoners at once and "neutralizing the threat of Hamas" to move towards what they call the post-war scenario.

Rubio also mentioned that he will focus on ensuring the return of the detainees, finding ways to guarantee humanitarian aid reaches civilians, and addressing what he termed the threat posed by Hamas.

The U.S. Secretary of State added that President Trump's stance on the Israeli attack in Doha will not change Washington's support for Israel.

The U.S. President had stated that he was not pleased with the Israeli bombing that targeted residential areas of Hamas in the Qatari capital.

A few days ago, Trump spoke again about the possibility of reaching an agreement in Gaza soon and issued what he called a "final warning" to Hamas to accept the latest U.S. proposal regarding a potential agreement.
