Mother of two Israeli captives: The attack on Qatar undermines the exchange negotiations.

The mother of two Israeli captives said on Thursday that the Israeli attack on Qatar on Tuesday undermines negotiations for a prisoner exchange between Tel Aviv and Hamas.

Sylvia Conio, the mother of the two captives held in Gaza, Ariel and David, expressed her "concern about the Israeli attack in Qatar" in a conversation with the "Wynet" website affiliated with the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

She added, "Every step hinders us; this is not the right time (for the attack); this jeopardizes the negotiations. Every time they ruin them (referring to Israeli government ministers)."

She continued, "We cannot continue this way; we want them (the Israeli captives in Gaza) home now; there is no other way."

The families of the Israeli captives are calling for an agreement to bring the captives back from Gaza, which the government of Benjamin Netanyahu refuses.

On Tuesday evening, the Israeli army launched an airstrike on the leadership of Hamas in Doha, resulting in the deaths of six people.

Qatar condemned the Israeli attack and affirmed its right to respond to the aggression that killed a member of the internal security forces.

Meanwhile, Hamas announced that its negotiating delegation, led by its head in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, survived an assassination attempt, while the director of his office, Jihad Labed, and his son, Hamam al-Hayya, along with three companions: Abdullah Abdul Wahid, Moamen Hassouna, and Ahmad al-Mamlouk, were killed.

On Tuesday, before the attack on Qatar, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar claimed that Tel Aviv is seeking to end the war in Gaza based on a proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump and the principles set by the security cabinet "the Cabinet."

The Cabinet had set five conditions for ending the war: the disarmament of Hamas, the return of both living and deceased captives, the demilitarization of Gaza, Israel's security control over it, and the establishment of a civilian administration that does not follow Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.

On Sunday, Trump, an ally of Israel, spoke about a new proposal presented to Hamas regarding ending the war in Gaza.

According to Israeli Channel 12, Trump's plan stipulates the return of all Israeli captives at once and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.

It also includes halting the plan to occupy the city of Gaza and entering negotiations to end the war and withdraw the Israeli army, with a guarantee from Trump that Israel will not return to war as long as negotiations are ongoing.

For its part, Hamas announced on Sunday that it received ideas from the United States through intermediaries to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, affirming its welcome of any move that helps end the war that has been ongoing for nearly two years.

Repeatedly, Hamas has announced its readiness to conclude a comprehensive deal with Tel Aviv to release all Israeli captives in exchange for Palestinian prisoners and to end the war and withdraw from the Gaza Strip, but Netanyahu has rejected it and insisted on partial proposals that allow him to procrastinate and impose new conditions at every negotiation stage.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are 48 Israeli captives in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while more than 11,100 Palestinians are imprisoned in its jails, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, with many having died, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

With U.S. support, Israel is committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop.

This genocide has resulted in 64,656 dead and 163,503 injured Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has killed 404 Palestinians, including 141 children.
