The United Nations calls on Israel to stop its threats against the Global Solidarity Fleet.

The UN rapporteurs called on the occupying state to stop "all threats related to the Global Solidarity Fleet and ensure the continuation of its mission to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza."

The UN rapporteurs stated in a statement on this matter, on Tuesday: "We stand in solidarity with the Global Solidarity Fleet and demand full protection for all those on board."

The statement added: "We call on Israel to stop all threats to harm the Global Solidarity Fleet and ensure its uninterrupted mission to deliver humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza."

It emphasized that any attempt to obstruct the fleet would constitute "a serious violation of international law and humanitarian principles."

It noted that the fleet is a result of the international community's failure to end the illegal Israeli blockade on Gaza and the humanitarian crisis it has caused.

It pointed out that if the international community had taken decisive action to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid, activists would not have had to risk their lives at sea.

On Sunday, about 20 ships coming from Spain as part of the "Global Solidarity Fleet" began arriving at the Tunisian shores, preparing to head towards the Gaza Strip in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade and open a humanitarian corridor for aid delivery.

At the end of August, about 20 ships from the fleet set sail from the Spanish port of Barcelona, followed by another convoy on the morning of September 1 from the port of Genoa in northwestern Italy.

The fleet consists of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the Global Gaza Movement, the Solidarity Convoy, and the Malaysian organization "Solidarity Nusantara," and includes hundreds of activists from over 40 countries.

The occupying state has previously engaged in piracy against individual ships heading towards Gaza, seizing them and deporting the activists on board.

This is the first time that this number of ships has sailed together towards the Gaza Strip.

With American support, the occupying state has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 64,605 deaths and 163,319 injuries among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, along with hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 399 Palestinians, including 140 children.
