The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Hamas's proposal for a comprehensive deal that includes a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire in Gaza, describing the proposal as "a new maneuver that brings nothing new."
The office stated in an official statement today, Wednesday: "The war can end immediately, but only under conditions set by the Cabinet."
The statement listed five conditions for ending the war: the release of all detainees, disarming Hamas, stripping the Gaza Strip of weapons, imposing Israeli security control over the Gaza Strip, and establishing an alternative civilian government that does not defend terrorism, instill terror, or threaten Israeli occupation.
Netanyahu's office emphasized that these conditions are the only ones that would "prevent Hamas from rearming itself and repeating October 7, as it intends."
The war can end immediately, but only under conditions set by the Cabinet.
