German Foreign Minister Johann David Waidewohl warned Israel once again against taking control of the Gaza Strip or the West Bank.
The politician from the Christian Democratic Union in Berlin said before departing on a trip to India: "Germany rejects any considerations that may mean the expulsion or dispossession of the Palestinian population."
He added: "Gaza must be part of a future Palestinian state within the framework of a two-state solution," emphasizing Germany's rejection of any Israeli annexation considerations that violate international law.
Waidewohl confirmed that the situation in Gaza remains a major concern, stating: "The humanitarian situation is tragic."
He clarified that it is clear that the war must end and that hostages must be released.
He also pointed out the importance of the United States, neighboring Arab countries, and the European Union considering Gaza's future after the war.
