The American displacement plan is back in the spotlight, and Hamas responds: Gaza is not for sale.

Two officials from Hamas rejected what is being said about an American plan for the United States to take control of the Gaza Strip, evacuate its residents, and turn it into an economic and tourist area. This came in response to recent reports on this matter published in the American newspaper "Washington Post."

The Washington Post stated that the plan consists of 38 pages and stipulates a "voluntary" departure of residents to another country or to areas within the strip that are subject to restrictions, during the reconstruction period. The newspaper mentioned that the administration of President Donald Trump is considering this plan.

It continued that the plan was based on Trump's announced vision to transform Gaza into the "Riviera of the Middle East." According to the plan, the strip will be placed, during the reconstruction period, under the management of a fund named "Gaza Reconstruction, Economic Recovery and Transformation Fund" (GREAT Trust).

A worthless plan, but a member of Hamas's political bureau, Bassem Naeem, responded to these leaks by saying, "Soak it and drink its water, as the Palestinian saying goes," adding, "Gaza is not for sale."

Naeem added that Gaza "is not a city on the map or a forgotten geography, but is part of the greater Palestinian homeland." He affirmed Hamas's "rejection and our people's rejection" of the plan, which, according to the American newspaper, stipulates the transfer of all residents of the Palestinian strip outside Gaza, which will be placed under American supervision for 10 years to turn it into a tourist area and a center for advanced technology.

Another Hamas official stated that the movement "rejects all these plans that displace our people and keep the occupier on our land. They are worthless and unjust plans." He added that Hamas "has not received anything official regarding such plans. We heard about them in the media."

The U.S. State Department did not respond to a request for comment on this report.
