Euro-Mediterranean: Israel destroyed 400 homes in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City.

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported that the occupation forces destroyed about 400 homes in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza City over six days, using explosive robots and warplanes. This aggression is part of an Israeli plan to impose complete control over the city.

The military attack on the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood began on August 11, where the occupation forces systematically targeted homes, resulting in the displacement of more than 90,000 residents of the neighborhood. Drones of the quadcopter type were used to besiege the residents and force them to leave under the threat of weapons.

The monitor clarified that the destruction of homes was not justified by any military necessity, as no armed clashes had been recorded in the area recently. This indicates that the aim of the operation is to target the foundations of Palestinian life and push the residents towards forced displacement.

The policy of destroying homes in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood is part of a broader strategy aimed at erasing Palestinian cities, where infrastructure is destroyed and essential elements of life are removed. These actions represent a blatant violation of international law.

The monitor called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the massacres and protect civilians. It also warned that the continuation of the aggression could lead to unprecedented mass killings, which would obliterate what remains of humanitarian response efforts.

On August 8, the Israeli security cabinet approved a plan to fully reoccupy the Gaza Strip, highlighting the aggressive intentions of the occupying state. The Israeli army began implementing this plan with a wide attack on the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood.

Statistics indicate that the Israeli genocide since October 7 has resulted in the deaths of more than 61,000 Palestinians, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster faced by the besieged residents of the Gaza Strip.
