The Israeli occupation authorities have issued six tenders for the construction and expansion in favor of the settlements of 'Ariel' and 'Ma'ale Adumim', amounting to 4,000 new settlement units. This step comes as part of the ongoing occupation's efforts to expand settlements on Palestinian lands, further complicating the situation in the region.
The tenders include three tenders for the expansion of the new neighborhood 'Ariel West', where 730 new units will be built, in addition to three other tenders for the expansion of the 'Ma'ale Adumim' settlement. The largest tender is tender number 320/2025, which aims to build 2,902 new settlement units.
The plans for 'Ma'ale Adumim' were approved last July, while the plans for 'Ariel' were approved last May. This rapid issuance of tenders following the approvals raises questions about the occupation's intentions.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that the attached map for the tender designated for 'Ariel West' shows that the site is more than two kilometers away from the 'Ariel' settlement. This means that the occupation is planning to establish a new settlement without announcing it.
These tenders are considered part of the ongoing policy of the occupation to expand settlements, which negatively affects the lives of Palestinians and increases tensions in the region. These policies contradict international law and are considered a violation of Palestinian rights.
The methodology of a race against time followed by the occupying state to impose new realities on Palestinian land is confirmed.
