Today, Tuesday, the Israeli occupation authorities delivered dozens of demolition and displacement orders to Palestinian families in the "Jabal al-Bab" community southeast of occupied Jerusalem. These orders target the homes and properties of several families, threatening the entire community with forced displacement.
The "Jabal al-Bab" community is located between the towns of Al-Eizariya and Abu Dis, and its residents suffer from the occupation's policy aimed at emptying the area of its inhabitants. This step comes as part of the ongoing attempts by the occupation to displace the indigenous population.
Dozens of Bedouin families live in "Jabal al-Bab," who have been subjected to attempts of forced displacement for years. These attempts coincide with settlement projects aimed at expanding the settlements and linking them to the "E1" plan, which seeks to isolate northern West Bank from the south.
The "E1" plan aims to sever the geographical connection between Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, exacerbating the suffering of the residents and reinforcing the occupation's policy of controlling Palestinian lands.
According to previous estimates by the United Nations, there are 26 Bedouin communities in the Jerusalem governorate, inhabited by about 4,856 Bedouins. These residents face harsh living conditions, suffering from a lack of basic services such as water and electricity.
In addition, the residents of the Bedouin communities face difficulties in accessing educational and health centers, complicating their daily lives and reflecting the occupation's policy of marginalizing them.
The campaign threatens the entire community with forced displacement, deepening the policy of emptying the area of its inhabitants.
