The Gilboa Prison administration uses electric shocks as a means of torturing prisoners, increasing their suffering.
The Palestinian Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners reported today, Friday, that the Gilboa Prison administration has intensified its torture of prisoners, using electric shocks as a retaliatory measure during its raids on the sections and rooms of the prisoners. This torture is part of a systematic policy aimed at breaking the will of the prisoners and humiliating them.
A lawyer from the authority, after visiting the prison, conveyed details of the torture mechanism, where the section is stormed by special suppression units under the pretext of inspection. Prisoners are handcuffed and shackled, then taken out to the yard, where they are subjected to beating and humiliation.
The unit members deliberately use electric shocks, administering shocks to the prisoners after wetting their clothes and bodies with water, which increases the intensity of the pain. Many prisoners collapse on the ground as a result of this brutal treatment.
The lawyer notes that electric shocks are administered using special guns, which are also used as a tool to beat the prisoners, leading to serious injuries and bleeding. This torture occurs amidst the mockery and laughter of the guards, further increasing the prisoners' suffering.
Additionally, prisoners suffer from severe food shortages, as they are provided with very small quantities, leading to a noticeable decrease in their weights. The lack of cleaning and disinfecting materials makes the rooms a fertile environment for the spread of diseases.
Prisoners use plastic plates and spoons, with each one using their own utensils for an entire month, exposing them to the risk of viruses and germs. These conditions threaten their lives and place them in a real danger zone.
