Occupation kills infant in tent and warns of evacuation of 9 areas in eastern Gaza

Dozens were martyred and injured today, Wednesday, by the bullets of the Israeli occupation army, which targeted those waiting for aid around a distribution point in southern Gaza Strip, in a serious escalation that threatens the lives of civilians and increases the suffering of the population in the besieged enclave.

In a tragic incident, a 6-month-old infant, Habiba Ma'arouf, was martyred by fire from an Israeli drone that targeted her family's tent on Al-Nafaq Street in Gaza City, while a source in the Strip's hospitals confirmed the martyrdom of 23 Palestinians since dawn today, in addition to dozens injured with varying degrees of wounds.

In the northern part of the Strip, a source in the ambulance and emergency services reported the martyrdom of five Palestinians and the injury of about 30 others among aid seekers by the fire of the occupation army in the Rafah area, where the situation was escalating dangerously with continued shelling and aggression on residential areas.

At the Baptist Hospital in Gaza, a source confirmed that seven Palestinians were martyred and others were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted two houses east of the city, while a source at Al-Awda Hospital in Al-Nuseirat camp indicated the death of five Palestinians, including a woman and two children, as a result of an Israeli airstrike on a house north of the camp, amid injuries among civilians reaching 25 cases.

On the ground, the Israeli occupation army issued warnings for the evacuation of nine areas in the Zeitoun neighborhood east of Gaza, urging residents to head south towards the Mawasi area in the southern Strip, in an attempt to impose further forced displacement amid escalating aerial and ground bombardment.

In a post on the X platform, the spokesperson for the occupation army, Avichai Adraee, warned against not evacuating the designated areas and confirmed that the army continues its operations in the western part of the Strip, while the forced displacement of the population continues, amid escalating international warnings of the worsening humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

In a related context, the occupation forces continue their bombardment of health centers, schools, and homes, where the Sheikh Radwan health center affiliated with UNRWA in Gaza was subjected to nighttime airstrikes that led to its destruction, further increasing the suffering of the population and threatening the lives of thousands of civilians who are suffering from a severe shortage of aid and basic services.

Amid the escalating aggression, the occupation forces issued repeated orders to evacuate wide areas, despite the fact that Palestinians find no safe places to seek refuge, with the continued destruction of vital facilities and shelters, which increases the suffering of the population and threatens the lives of children and women in particular.

In a report by the United Nations, it was noted that 82% of the areas in the Gaza Strip are under Israeli evacuation orders, while forced displacement operations continue, with ongoing destruction of infrastructure, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and increasing the suffering of civilian populations.

The Israeli aggression since the beginning of the escalation has left more than 211,000 Palestinians martyred and injured, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, amid fears of worsening famine and an unprecedented deterioration of humanitarian conditions.
