The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has revealed a horrifying toll of the number of children who have been martyred in the Gaza Strip, where approximately 28 children are killed daily as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression for more than a year and a half, coinciding with a suffocating blockade and a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions. The organization explained that children in Gaza face death due to bombardment, malnutrition, hunger, and a lack of vital aid and services, amid the continued aggression aimed at systematically destroying humanitarian infrastructure.

UNICEF pointed out that the daily killing rate of children is equivalent to the size of an entire classroom, a figure that reflects the magnitude of the humanitarian disaster that children in the sector are experiencing. The organization confirmed that children are in urgent need of food, water, medicine, and protection, emphasizing the necessity of an immediate ceasefire to save what remains of the lives of children and civilians. It affirmed that the continuation of the aggression directly threatens children's lives and increases their daily suffering.

In a related context, the United Nations reported that more than 1,500 people have been martyred since the beginning of May, while attempting to obtain food or at aid distribution points controlled by the occupying forces, which deliberately target them repeatedly. It stated that the toll of martyrs since the beginning of the occupation's aid distribution through the "Gaza Aid Foundation" has reached 1,516 Palestinians, in addition to more than 10,067 injured, as a result of the continuous gunfire from the occupation army on those waiting for aid, according to data from the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Monday that the number of deaths due to the policy of starvation has risen to 180 Palestinians, including 93 children, after five people died within 24 hours due to malnutrition. Additionally, 22 Palestinians were martyred, including 10 aid seekers, and others were injured since dawn on Monday due to the occupation's bombardment of various areas in the sector, amid the ongoing genocide war waged by the occupation against the Palestinians.

Areas in western Rafah and the central sector were bombed by occupation aircraft, targeting homes, civilian gatherings, and aid seekers, resulting in martyrs and injuries. In the latest attacks, six Palestinians were martyred and fifty others were injured among those waiting for American aid near the distribution center at the Netzarim axis, raising the number of victims in that area since dawn to eight martyrs.

Three Palestinians were also martyred and others were injured in an Israeli bombardment targeting a gathering of civilians east of the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, while the toll of martyrs since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has reached 13 martyrs in scattered attacks on the sector. In Gaza City, four Palestinians were martyred in a bombardment targeting a gathering of civilians in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood.

Since the beginning of the aggression, Israel continues to commit acts of genocide, with a clear escalation in the starvation policy it has imposed since the beginning of March, as it closed all crossings to humanitarian and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine and reaching its indicators to "catastrophic" levels.

These crimes, supported by the United States, have resulted in more than 210,000 Palestinians being either martyred or injured, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, amid the ongoing blockade and escalation that threatens the lives of the population daily and increases the suffering of the Palestinian people in the sector.
