The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced that approximately 28 children are martyred daily in the Gaza Strip as a result of ongoing bombing and starvation imposed by Israeli occupation forces for more than 660 days. The organization confirmed that children in the region are suffering from death due to bombing, malnutrition, hunger, and a lack of essential aid and vital services.

UNICEF pointed out that the rate of child martyrdom is equivalent to the size of one classroom daily, reflecting the magnitude of the humanitarian disaster that children in Gaza are experiencing. It emphasized that children are in urgent need of food, water, medicine, and protection, but most importantly, there is an immediate need for a ceasefire to save their lives.

The organization explained that more than 1,500 people have been martyred in the region since May, while trying to obtain food or at aid distribution points controlled by occupation forces, or along the routes used by the United Nations to transport aid. It confirmed that children and women are the most vulnerable in these harsh conditions.

In a related context, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll of those waiting for aid due to occupation gunfire has reached 1,422 martyrs, in addition to more than 10,000 injured since May 27. It noted that more than 150 people have died due to famine and malnutrition as a result of the ongoing blockade and the war of starvation waged by Israel against the population of the region.

The ongoing Israeli aggression, supported by the United States, since October 7, 2023, has resulted in the deaths of more than 60,199 martyrs and injuries to more than 150,000, with hundreds of thousands displaced, in addition to hundreds missing. The war has left a huge number of children and women among the victims and has led to famine that has claimed many lives, completely destroying the infrastructure.
