Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in an interview with Channel 13 the day before yesterday: “Jews are killing Palestinians every day in the West Bank. The hilltop youth are committing war crimes. These are not a minority. These are false allegations. They receive support, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to do this.” He said that the Israeli police and army are turning a blind eye to settlers burning Palestinian fields, and cited what Yossi Dagan, head of the settlement council, said at a woman’s funeral: “Let’s burn the Palestinian villages.”
He emphasized that when the world hears Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, Defense Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir talk about displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and their support for settlers' actions in the West Bank, and does not hear the opposition confront these trends, it will adopt hostile positions toward Israel.
Commenting on the talks held by Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, he said that he does not want to reach any agreement and does not want to return the kidnapped soldiers.
