The occupation forces kidnapped a fisherman in Lebanese territorial waters in the Mediterranean Sea.

Israeli naval forces kidnapped a fisherman in Lebanese territorial waters in the Mediterranean Sea on Wednesday and took him into Israel.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that "Israeli boats violated Lebanese territorial waters, bypassing the buoys (floating objects that mark the boundaries of the water), and surrounded a fishing boat with two people on board."

She added, "The Israeli forces kidnapped one of the fishermen, named A. F., and took him into the occupied Palestinian territories, while keeping the other one in the area."

The agency noted that the second fisherman was investigated by Lebanese military intelligence before being released, while the fate of the first fisherman remains unknown.

As of 14:06 (GMT), Tel Aviv has not issued any comment regarding the kidnapping incident.

On October 8, 2023, the Israeli occupation launched an aggression against Lebanon, which escalated into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 martyrs and approximately 17,000 wounded, in addition to the displacement of approximately 1.4 million people.

Since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on November 27, 2024, Israel has committed thousands of violations, resulting in at least 208 deaths and 501 injuries, according to an Anadolu Agency tally based on official data.

In defiance of the ceasefire, the Israeli army partially withdrew from southern Lebanon, while continuing to occupy five hills it captured in the last war.
